We often are blindly amazed with Sriwijaya’s
greatness. When inscriptions relating to Srwijaya
were found in places outside Indonesia, our opinion drifted
away: the site where Sriwijaya related inscription was
found had been a territory conquered by Sriwijaya! Such
misconception emerged whenever the name of Sriwijaya
was mentioned in Nalanda Inscription and Ligor Inscription
(Vat Semamuang). Actually both inscriptions described the
relationship among nation. It depicted the relationship
built between two authority institutions through the
construction of a dormitory for people studying Buddhism
in Nalanda, Bihar, East India, by Balaputeradewa; and the
construction of the sacred building by the king of Sriwijaya
was dedicated to Padmapani, Sakyamuni, and Wajrapani,
in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Southern Thailand.
