There are hundreds of singing traditions in various places in Papua, as part of their tremendous hundreds of cultures and languages. In the district of Jayapura, various singing traditions sung by women in which expressing life experiences, daily activities and related local nature. In villages such as Enggros where the sea as a part of life, women sing in addition to adat rituals, as well as of harvesting of seafood. In Kampung Kayo Pulau (fish island village), women sing while rowing boat, narrating life issues. In the town of Jayapura, women who, from decades ago came from Yapen Islands, the Serui tribe, take along their singing traditions with them. They sing life experiences in a new place. Each song can be recognized through different melodies, rhythms and functions.
