Born and grew up in the village of Singapadu, Bali, as a fourth generation in a family of performing artists, Radi was introduced to Balinese gamelan music at the age of four and began to perform on stage as a dancer at five. At 12 he participated in a cultural exchange between Balinese and American children in New York City hosted by the National Dance Institute (NDI), USA. Radi studied dance from several renowned dancers in Bali and Java (Yogyakarta style), and he masters not only classical Javanese dance but also classical Balinese. Radi has also created a number new works such as Binary (2012), Puyung (2012), Mebat (2013), Barong Tri Sedatu (2014), Rite of Barong (2015), and Ngalalu Lawang (2016). Completed his undergraduate study in dance in 2015, he is currently doing his Master program at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta.
