Tridacna gigas is a species of giant clam which fossils are also found in Sangiran. This clam usually lives in coral reef, at depth as much as 20 meters. They are usually found in shallow lagoon and shallow coral reef, and usually attached in sandy subtracts. They are the largest living bivalve mollusk in the world, which measure as much as 120 cm of length and more than 200 kg weight. They have an average lifespan in the wild of 100 years or more.
