Halliam L, Movius was born in Newton, Massachusset, USA. His interest on early man living seem since he studied in Harvard University. Movius is a smart student in Paleolithic for Europe. His carrier started with participation in Archeology expedition in Middle Europe, sponsored by Harvard and Pennsylvania University, on 1930s after he graduated. Since then, some field work and excavation as if it were a separate part from Movius life.

In the middle of field activities, he finished his postgraduate and medical in Anthropology of Harvard University. On 1936, while arranging dissertation, Movius married Nancy Champion de Crespigni, student of Adelaide which become one of field assisstant in excavation project in Ireland, where Movius involved along 1932-1936.

After got doctor degree, he was became Archeolog and Director assisstant on American South East Asiatic Expedition of  Early Man (also called as Havard-Carneige Expedition), which bring him on meeting with G.H.R von Koenigswald in Java.

On 1942, his scientific has stopped because Movius joined with military and strengthen USA Air Force in Second World War, until 1946. After that, he became teacher in Anthropology of Harvard, beside continue some field research. As one of Archaeologists are experts in the field of old stone tools owned by USA, he awarded Medal Viking Fund for Archeology on 1949, and gave title Chevalier des Art et Letter by France Republic.

Member of American Academy of Art and Science, died in Cambridge, after 57 years worked in realm of early human research. Source: Museum of Early Human Cluster Ngebung.
