“Woahh, we are the first visitors today.”
That is what they said when entering display room 1 on October 26th, 2022. In the display room 1, they witness various collections with supporting facilities that can improve the quality of information for the visitor.
“I have visited the museum four times, and now there are some changes,” said one of the visitors. Beside that, another visitor said, “I have visited the museum twice.” The group, which consists of 5 people, is from Bekasi. They come here to visit their family and make time to visit the Sangiran Early Man Museum. They who have come many times weren’t bored to explore the museum because they could get new information.
In this visit, they witness the changes in display with modern technology. “This is amazing; by using modern technology, it can make it easier for the visitor to access the information.”
The visitors give some opinions after entering the display room 1. They were amazed with the touch-screen modern technology, which helped them get information about soil formations in Sangiran easily. After they know the soil formation, they automatically know what happened in the past.
In the Sangiran Early Man Museum Site, there are 3 display rooms with different themes. The theme of display room 1 is “The Wealth of Sangiran.” The meaning is that Sangiran has many important things that contribute to the world. Therefore, UNESCO recognized Sangiran as World Cultural Heritage.
The complete soil formation tells about the past lives of people more than 2 million years ago at the Sangiran site. The flora and fauna that lived with Homo erectus were able to evolve by creating various cultures. The life stories of the past are briefly explained in the display room, as is the participation of society in preserving the Sangiran site.
The theme of display room 2 is “The Steps of Humanity,” which tells about the creation of the universe until the life of early man and also their evolution. Then, the theme of display room 3 is the Golden Era of Homo erectus, which occurred 500.000 years ago. By exploring the Sangiran early-man museum, the Krikilan cluster, the visitors get educational tourism. (Wiwit Hermanto)
