Rugosa is often reffered to as horn coral due to its shape and characteristics which imitates the horn and its wrinkle, or rugose wall. Rugosa can live in a group (large colonies) or live alone. The solitary rugosans can reach nearly 1 meter in length. This rugosa live in sea bottom or in dead coral. Like other coral, rugosa is also important to construct coral reef.
