Sangiran environment at 2 mya is far different with today’s. At those times, Sangiran was a deep sea environment. Evidenced by Kalibeng Formation, depositing abundant sea faunal fossils like sea shells, sea snails, and also sharks. Beside marine fauna, in Kalibeng Formation also deposited reef fossils.
