Lapisan Kehidupan Purba Situs Semedo : Tersisa di Puncak-puncak Bukit

Abstrak

Di Situs Semedo, terdapat lapisan batuan/tanah yang menyimpan bukti-bukti kehidupan manusia dan binatang vertebrata di masa lalu. Pada awalnya jenis lapisan ini dan lokasi singkapannya belum diketahui. Namun dengan melakukan survei dan pengumpulan data literatur hasil kajian sebelumnya, dapat diketahui lokasi singkapan lapisan (litologi) pengandung fosil vertebrata di Situs Semedo.

Fosil vertebrata di Situs Semedo berasal dari lapisan batupasir silangsiur dan konglomerat. Lapisan tersebut tersingkap cukup baik di puncak-puncak bukit seperti Ngampon, Gunung Putri, Kalen Kawi, Igir Sripit (?), Cempluk Wuni, Gamprit, Triangulasi, Igir Pelem, Igir Mencu, Igir Kunci, Igir Secang, Wangkal Betet dan Igir Gareng. Singkapan-singkapan tersebut tersebar memanjang berarah relatif timur-barat. Jika dihubungkan dengan stratigrafi regional, lapisan batupasir silang siur dan konglomerat sebagai lapisan pengandung fosil vertebrata sementara dapat disebandingkan dengan Formasi Kaliglagah.

Paleo Sediment at Semedo Site : Remaining at Top off Hill

At Semedo Site, there is a rock layer that has evidence of human life and animal vertebrates in the past. Initially, the type of rock and its outcrop location is unknown. By survey/mapping and collecting literature data from previous studies, outcrops location of rock layers containing vertebrate fossils at Semedo Site will be known.

The vertebrate fossils in the Semedo were presumably derived from outcrops of sandstone layer and conglomerate sandstones layer. The fossils had been unearthed from the layers which well-exposed from several hilltops in Ngampon, Gunung Putri, Igir Sripit (?), Wuni Cempluk, Gamprit, Triangulation, Igir Pelem, Igir Mencu, Igir Kunci, Igir Secang, Wangkal Betet and Igir Gareng. Those outcrops were spread along in east-west direction. Associating with the regional stratigraphy, cross bedding sandstone and conglomerate layers are the fossil bearing layer which could be corelated with Kaliglagah Formation.
