Ngebung cluster is one of early human museum located in Sangiran site. It is not far from the ancient human museum, the cluster of krikilan which is the center of information from the Sangiran site. In the Ngebung cluster, there is dioramas showing a house with a shaman and patients being treated. That diorama tells that before 1930, Sangiran residents believed giant bone can used to cure disease and amulet. Giant bone has a story that believed by Sangiran society as a bone from giant in the past. There was a big fight in Sangiran region, and in the fight there were giants dead and buried in hill.
Treatment technique with giant bone did by soak in the water, and then the water drink by the patient, or it can also by boiled and pounded then the water drink by the patient. This treatment can did alone or by shaman help at that time. If the disease was severe they went to the shaman directly.
Since 1930-1940, giant bone started called as a fossil. It known by the society since a foreigner researcher came to Sangiran region named von Koenigswald. Koenigswald researcher bring a change in society perception that giant bone is a remain of life in the past. Until the end, now fossil seen as science data to reveal human life in the past.
