The efforts of preserving Sangiran site is still running in order to give contribution for community. To do all of that, it needed role from various parties to spread of informations about Sangiran site. one of programs planned by BPSMP Sangiran on 2019 is Sangiran Entered School (SMS). Iwan Setiawan Bimas, S.S as the head of Utilization section tells “Sangiran Entered School” is cooperation with Education and Sport department of Special Region of Yogyakarta to students. In this event, BPSMP Sangiran attended the school recommended by Education and Sport department of Special Region of Yogyakarta, then held some following events such as teaching materials prehistoric tim, little exhibition, and introducing Sangiran through props and also collections of Sangiran museum.
In this event, it delivered message and Sangiran value to the students so they can know Sangiran and in the end it was expected can give character strengthening education. According to the lesson books in school, material about Sangiran is just a little even though this site is well known around the world even it recognized by UNESCO. Through this program, it was expected can increase students’ knowlegde about Sangiran greatness in the eyes of the world.
The aim of this event according to Iwan is “As cultural heritage to young generation especially students, education for society and strategic partnership between BPSMP Sangiran and eductional institutions in delivering prehistoric knowledge”.
Sangiran collections can be learning media for students, because they can touch and see the real one. The students can see, learn and cross check with material of lessons on books, cause it served real object such as fossils and artifacts. It means that the students can learn by listening, feeling, touching, and etc. This according to scientific approach of 2013 Curriculum, which is applicated step of activities start from observes, ask, think, try, and practice (5M). There are 2 ways communication between students and educators in presentation. The educators deliver about collections and interact with students which are expected students and teachers get knowledge and understand the information presented, especially related to early man knowledge from Sangiran site.
